A series of short vignettes shot on 35mm infrared film and digitally re-sequenced are rear-projected on a pane of one-way glass. Framed in a hallway mirror that reflects an asynchronous projection, images – alternately photographs, cinema and the viewer – address the physiological and emotional responses to portraiture and to film. Drawing inspiration from Michelangelo Antonioni and Andrew Wyeth, the distant memory of a lover, or searcher, plays out and compels the imaginer to travel alongside a lonely protagonist.
